The region

A plain between mountains and sea

Ribera lies in south-western Sicily, in the province of Agrigento. The plain is sheltered by the Sicani mountains and opens towards the sea, crossed by the Verdura and Platani rivers.

Sun, abundant water and mild winters give oranges a good balance of sugar and acidity.

Our name

Why Zagara

In Sicily, zagara is the white blossom of citrus trees. In spring the orchards fill with its scent: that blossom becomes the orange that reaches your shelves.
